I found some spare time. Been wondering where it went to.

I've been wanting to update for a few days now, but I've been busy in various fashions that I won't get into. I guess it's mostly just government. That class has been surprisingly sucking the life out of me like I never imagined. It isn't very hard, either. It just does it. Then, after it's done, I have no idea where all my time went. It's ridiculous. The only thing I can figure is that it's too easy to procrastinate on, because it's... well, government.

To totally change the subject on purpose, a neat trick I picked up from a friend, I have to backtrack a little to this past weekend. I had the best weekend for quite some time. Not only did the opening weekend of "Anything Goes" go great, but it was a three-day weekend with Monday off for President's Day, which is always welcome. So Sunday night, I went out to the Lunts and they had a movie party and it was really fun. We watched The Sandlot and the end of Coneheads and The Goonies... all good movies in their own special ways. I wasn't too interested in the movies, for the most part, though. I got to spend time with a lot of people I hadn't gotten to spend much time with for a long time. One person in paticular made me rather pleased I came. And I figure I should enjoy those moments as much as I can for now, because I'll be shipping off to college before I know it. I'm looking forward to enjoying the rest of my stay at home, especially if someone decides to spend it with me.

So, anyway, now that I'm done living in the past, I just wanted to explain that the reason I have time for this is because my previous plans got cancelled, which is a real shame, because I was gonna go out to see Laya do some improv in Wooster with Katherine and my cousin Susan and her friends. I don't know what the rest of them are doing, but they all sounded like they had plans to utilize their time (Katherine is sleeping, and advised me to do the same), so I didn't bother asking if they wanted to do anything else. So here I am. Great fun, huh?

Of course, I don't have to worry about having much free time, even though Anything Goes is over after this weekend, because the LHS musical, "The Music Man", is just beginning. And the part of Harold Hill is unfortionately not going to learn itself. I've been sort of mini-obsessing, and first of all, I don't feel that I can do a performance nearly as well as Robert Preston does in the movie (That's what I get for not being a professional). Second of all, that is A LOT to learn in a couple of months. Less than that, even. I'm not really worried, it's gonna be a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to it starting.

Well, other than that, I've been up to just about nothing. I'm going to go study government now, or maybe do some reasearch for my toothpick bridge in physics. Catch y'all later!

Is this bittersweet?

So, this last week has been pretty terrible. I got sick, I got the big thumbs down to the Miami music department, I pretty much failed my government test (no kidding) and have to get my score docked 10 points for my report 'cause I couldn't get it done BECAUSE I was sick and Mrs. Boone takes no mercy. Not to mention a lot of people are disappointed in me for various reasons, and that's about the worst feeling in the world. And there are some other little things that I won't really worry about 'cause then you'll all just think I'm a big whiner. And I don't think I am.

Despite all this, at this moment, I'm in a pretty good mood. I don't know why. All I can figure is that I got a natural high after the big disappointing week, and considering what a stressful, disappointing week it was, it could last for a while. I've got all sorts of stuff to look forward to. Most pressing, "Anything Goes" is finally, well... going this weekend, and I couldn't be more ready. I'm excited because a bunch of my friends are coming despite the expensive price tag (10 bucks! Holy cow!)

Well, anyway, I've gotta go get ready, but I wanna post this...

So 'till next time...

The Blogging Resumes. Maybe.

So I started writing in this thing again... maybe 'cause I'm sick or whatever, but whenever I read all of my other friend's blogs & Xangas, it always makes me ashamed that I'm taking up an internet site that some dude with an awesome game or some wicked pictures of baby animals doing cute stuff, or a website for finding your long lost highschool mates... Yeah. Don't I feel guilty. I mean, I don't even give away free I-pods if you shoot the mutant clown, or whatever...
The funny thing is, when I read other people's entries, it doesn't matter what they're about. They could be about that person's attempt to find the national average length of grass by hand. They could be a detailed article describing the plot and symbolism of the acclaimed 1981 film, "On Golden Pond" (That's pushing it). It could be a series of love poems to a celebrity. Okay, so I wouldn't read that last one... but I don't know anyone who does that.
REGUARDLESS...
I told myself a while ago if I started again I'd have to have a once-a-week minimum. So it was decreed.
JIMMY'S BLOG RULE #42-
Jimmy shall write no fewer than one blog a week. This one manditory entry per week will be accomplished on each Sunday, unless otherwise noted for that paticular week, or changed due to one of the following reasons:
  • Hamster Attack
  • Hot Date
  • Bar Mitzvah
  • Emergency trip to The San Diego Zoo
  • Accidental election into the presidency
  • My excavation crew and I stumble upon a Palaeoloxodon fossil
  • A rich supermodel confesses her eternal love to me
  • No school on mondy and I'm at some sort of party or sleepover or whatever and I forget
  • I'm unable to get to a computer over the weekend
  • I'm grounded from computers for the weekend
  • World's Funniest Home Videos is on (Only with Bob Saget, that new guy's just boring)
  • My pants get stuck in the toilet again
  • Any other reason I neglect to add

And so it was. And the people were happy.

Okay, so to update on me... ummmm... some highlights

  • Honors Band was okay.
  • Anything Goes has... begun. The show's this weekend, so everyone should come (or next weekend), 'cause I have some wicked awesome acting parts and some good singing and David's playing trumpet and I got to do some of my own choreography, and that's a first for me.
  • College auditions on my trombone. They've not gone well, for the most part. I've had so many difficulties, so many set backs... but I'd rather not go there. I was accepted to Akron after totally screwing up my audition, though, so I guess I still have a chance.
  • Ummm... my room's gotten one-fourth clean. (Hey, that's pretty good for me)
  • Government's begun, and I'm doing half decent
  • Physics is fun and easy
  • Band and Choir are a bit tedious, but fun as always
  • I can't decide where to go to college yet, because I don't have my results back from everywhere.
  • I haven't played video games for like, two weeks. That's pretty much a new record for me.
  • I feel like I've spent a lot of time... getting nothing done.

Well, there you have it. Maybe these things will be getting better as I get back into the swing of things, but I figure as far as I go, this is pretty good. So enjoy!
